Transit damage cases are easier to assess when the condition of the package and product is documented immediately. Late or vague reports make it harder to tell where the damage occurred.

Photograph dents, tears, crushed corners, wet packaging, or broken seals before focusing only on the product. External package condition helps explain whether the item may have been damaged during transit.
Take clear photos or video of the device, especially the areas that appear newly damaged. If the item powers on, avoid heavy use before reporting the issue.
Fast reporting reduces uncertainty about whether the damage happened during shipping, after delivery, or before the order was sent. It also helps support involve the right operational path more quickly.
Useful information
Keep packaging materials until the issue is reviewed.
Do not repair the device before support assesses the case.
